The Inventec DCS6032Q 10/40GbE top of rack switch is ideal for data center spine application. It is capable of line rate layer2/3 performance in a compact 1RU form factor. The DCS6032Q switch supports 32 x 40GbE QSFP+ interfaces. When configured for 10GbE mode, one QSFP+ port can operate as 4 x 10GbE ports. A total of 104 x10GbE interfaces can be configured. DCS6032Q dramatically reduces energy consumption by utilizing true PHY-Less design. The power monitoring capability and power efficientcy have also been greatly improved by the included next-generation PSU module.
Inventec IN-OS
Inventec IN-OS is a Linux based operating system designed for today's data center environment. It has been purposely built to provide scalability, high availability and serviceability. It offers an extensive software suite of advanced networking features and protocols necessary to develop a variety of Ethernet and IP infrastructure systems for data center applications. OpenFlow support enables user to leverage industry's standards-based protocol to implement SDN and accelerate network innovation. The Linux OS also serves as an enabler for Open Source L2/L3 solutions.
Dynamic Buffer Management and QoS
DCS6032Q delivers a latency of ~600 nanosecond cut through mode. The On-chip packet buffer memory (12MB) with dynamic buffer management has been incorporated for maximum burst absorption. By utilizing dedicated Unicast and Multicast queues, the switch is able to provide separate scheduling structures and offered to support different applications such as IEEE 802.1Q.
